Wicked Games / Spherix – Game marketing consultant

Spherix is an indie video game that combines creature collection with thrilling real-time action combat in a vibrant multiplayer online open world. Players can capture, battle, evolve and customize their own creature called Spherix. They can also explore dungeons, complete quests, unveil mysteries and build the most powerful team.

This title is the first game created by independent game developer Wicked Studios (as of now in bankrupcy) and it is currently in alpha stage.

As the Marketing Consultant for Wicked Studios, my role was multifaceted and involved defining the image and language for social media platforms, developing a content creation strategy, conducting trend research, and providing PPC consulting. I was tasked with shaping the game’s online presence, ensuring that the messaging and visuals resonated with the target audience and effectively communicated the game’s unique features and gameplay experience. Some of these activities are listed below:

  • Define the image and language for social media
  • Content creation strategy
  • Trend research
  • PPC consulting

In addition to my direct marketing responsibilities, I also served as a liaison between Wicked Studios and their assigned game marketing agency, Ranieri. By facilitating communication and aligning goals between the two parties, I helped ensure that the marketing efforts were cohesive and in line with the overall strategic objectives for promoting Spherix.

Furthermore, my time at Wicked Studios enabled me to conduct valuable research on indie game success stories driven by social media, as well as successful Kickstarter campaigns within the gaming industry.

By studying these case studies and identifying common patterns and strategies that led to success, I gained insights into effective marketing tactics and campaign execution within the gaming sector.

It is thanks to my time with Wicked Studios that i learned many topics on game marketing and feel more prepared to work with other studios.
